Refrigerator Pickles

    3 large cucumbers
    1 medium onion
    1 tablespoon salt
    1 teaspoon celery seed
    3/4 cup sugar
    1/2 cup white vinegar

   Peel and slice the cucumbers.  Thinly slice the
onion.  Place cucumber and onion in a bowl and sprinkle
with salt and celery seed; let stand one hour.

   Combine sugar and vinegar and stir to dissolve the
sugar.  Pour over cucumber and mix well.

   Store in refrigerator in covered bowl. Will keep
at least three weeks.
