Sherman Lima Beans
2 packages dry lima beans
6 small onions, minced
3 cans tomato soup
1 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon each; salt and pepper
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 pound bacon, sliced
Cook beans with baking soda until skins separate.
Mix beans
with all other ingredients (except bacon) and place
in casserole
dish. Layer bacon on top. Bake at 350F for one
hour.
